Who's Behind Camp Addict?
Finding information on ANY subject concerning RVing products can be really frustrating. Before Camp Addict, there was no 'go-to', one-stop resource website out there for getting answers about a product and recommendations on which product would be best for your situation.
The best you could usually find was a blog reviewing one particular product or a forum where you are relying on opinions from strangers. We know how hit or miss THAT tends to be. Yes, Amazon has product ratings. However, they cannot be trusted. Why? Because many companies pay people to create fake reviews to boost their product sales.
This is why we created Camp Addict. Our goal is to be the first place you think of when you need information. For you to KNOW that this is where you can find correct answers. We are not there yet, as we just started and have a LOT more products to cover. We will get there. The site has already grown tremendously with traffic since inception.
Who Is Behind Camp Addict?
WE started Camp Addict. Who are 'we'? We are two single full-time RV'ers, Kelly Beasley (myself) and Marshall Wendler. We met through a mutual friend, through the internet, with an introduction by Jennifer Nealy of Nealys on Wheels. (Crazy day and age we live in, eh?)
Marshall and I had in common that we were the same age and we were both singles living full-time in travel trailers. People like us are not very common.
There aren't too many of 'our kind' out there. Couples? Tons. Families? Yup.
Singles? Barely any. Especially our age. No, we are not dating. Everyone seems to think we are, but we are simply business partners and we caravan much of the time.
After caravanning for a while, we started noticing the need for an all-in-one place on the internet to get RVing product information. After some research and determination that there was a huge need in the marketplace, we both quit our full-time nomadic jobs and started working on Camp Addict.
We had the perfect combined skills, experience, and tools to create the most comprehensive and successful website for learning about RV products, while also reviewing the products we think are the best.
Camp Addict was right up our alley. Having been full-time RV'ing for a combined 8 years, we are 'in the know' about the ins and outs of RV life.
Nothing has felt more right to us than creating a place where you can sit back, relax, and know you can finally stop the frustrating internet hunt for all of the information you need.
The Scoop on Camp Addicts Kelly and Marshall
Kelly left the world of suburbia back in 2015. With a house too big for her and her two tiny dogs, and a life that had felt stale years prior, she found herself totally free to live a nomadic life. With rental income, a part-time mobile job, and nothing else holding her back, she hit the road with glee in May of 2015.
Kelly lives out of a 24' Crossroads Slingshot travel trailer. An exclusive boondocker, she and her pups are loving the wide open spaces out west. Chasing the good weather is a requirement. Work is her primary daily routine, but exploring is a big part of this lifestyle and she of course hikes and explores nearby towns whenever possible.
Hey! I'm Marshall, and I have lived in my 24' Lance travel trailer since April of 2014. I had a mobile job, like Kelly, so it was do-able. I had found myself newly single, and had wanted to live a nomadic life for YEARS. So, with nothing holding me back, I hit the road.
I've been 'ruined' by it. Living stationary may never be a thing for me ever again. If the RV life gets boring, I'll still travel somehow. I've thought about doing Airbnb's for a while, a month at a time. Or even living and traveling overseas or possibly living on a boat. I've got the nomadic bug now, for sure.
I tend to geek out on aviation, boats, and life on the road.
(Kelly talking now, cause Marshall doesn't like to 'boast'.) Marshall is crazy good at all things internet. His back-end skills and research skills complemented my writing, researching, and design skills. CA would NOT exist, or especially couldn't be successful without his killer SEO skills.
Together, we created Camp Addict. We are very happy with how it is doing so far and look forward to the future!
Camp On, Addicts!
