By Marshall Wendler
If you are looking for an affordable, quality dump hose, look no farther than the Camco RhinoFLEX sewer hose kit.
Camp Addict co-founder Marshall has been using the same Camco Rhino RV sewer hose the entire time he has been RVing.
For the past 7+ years, including 6.5 years as a full-time RVer, it has given no problems and is working as well as the day it was new.
The Camco RhinoFLEX RV sewer hose is a great budget-minded option for your waste tank dumping needs. We call it the best RV sewer hose for those on a budget.
You really can't go wrong if you choose this Camco sewer hose kit.
Both of Camp Addict's co-founders used a Rhino Flex sewer hose extensively. As mentioned above, Marshall has used the same one for over seven years, and it has performed flawlessly with zero issues.

Available in a 15-foot and a 20-foot kit, the Rhino hose is resistant to abrasion and puncture. However, it's still crushable.
This is because it uses steel reinforcing wire. If you step on it or drive over it, the wire will stay crushed, and you will need a new hose.
Camco makes a Rhino sewer hose kit that can stand a bit more abuse, including stepping on.
Still, if you are careful when using it, the Camco RhinoFLEX sewer hose is an acceptable option.
That said, if you tend to be less careful (like Camp Addict co-founder Kelly!) or want a less destructible option, check out the Rhino Extreme sewer hose.
RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Details
Both the 15 and the 20-foot Rhino sewer hose kits come with the stated hose length. One end of the hose has standard bayonet fittings, and the other has a 90-degree elbow.
And in fact, both ends have swivel fittings that rotate a full 360 degrees.
The business end of the RhinoFLEX sewer hose that goes into the ground sewer connector has a clear 90-degree bend.
This clear elbow lets you see when the gray and black tanks have finished draining.
There is an included 4-in-1 adapter that fits various sizes of ground sewer connectors at dump stations or campsite sewer connections.
Most of the steps in the adapter have screw threads to allow you to screw it in for a secure fit if needed. The adapter fits 3-inch, 3 1/2 inch, and 4-inch threaded pipes, as well as 3-inch slip fittings.
So, if you are careful with your RV sewage hose and there is no chance you will crush it, this Camco RV sewer hose is an excellent budget-minded option.
If you are looking for a more durable hose that can withstand being stepped on and driven over, you can take a look at the Rhino Extreme sewer hose kit.
Now you have a better idea why we call the Camco Rhino Flex the best RV sewer hose kit for those not looking to spend a fortune.
Need Extra Hose Length?
If you require additional hose length than what the standard RhinoFLEX RV sewer kit comes with, you can purchase a Rhino sewer hose extension.
The RhinoFLEX sewer hose extension is available in both 5-foot and 10-foot lengths.
Camco Rhino Sewer Hose
Camco RhinoFLEX Features and Specs:
- 23 mil thick steel wire reinforced polyolefin hose.
- RV sewer connectors are permanently attached (and, in theory, are no-leak fittings) and spin/swivel so that hose doesn't twist when connecting to the RV or ground sewer connection.
- RhinoFLEX waste hose kits come with a 90-degree clear elbow to monitor wastewater flow.
- Included 4-in-1 adapter has multiple 'steps' allowing it to screw into most sizes of ground sewer connections.
- The adapter is removable so that hose will fit in 4-inch square bumpers.
- Rhino Flex Hose easily compresses (and stays compressed) for storage. Just stretch it out to the desired length when in use.
- Camco RhinoFLEXsewer hose kits are available in 15 and 20-foot lengths. The 20' RV sewer hose kit includes two 10-foot hose sections.
- You can purchase a 5-foot or a 10-foot extension hose if you need additional length.
- Storage caps included.
RhinoEXTREME Sewer Hose
If you are interested in a Camco Rhino sewer hose but want something more durable and can handle being stepped on, the RhinoEXTREME may be right for you.
Similar to the RhinoFLEX hose reviewed above, it has permanently attached end fittings that rotate 360 degrees so that the hose ends move without the hose itself getting all twisted.
The Camco Rhino Extreme also has the same 90-degree clear elbow and 4-in-1 adapter with multiple steps to fit various sized ground sewer connections.
What makes the Camco Rhino Extreme sewer hose different is its construction of 24 mils thick TPE plastic with a crush-resistant polypropylene exoskeleton. Under most circumstances, it will retain its original shape if stepped on.
This material is puncture and abrasion-resistant for long life.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Do You Use A RhinoFLEX sewer hose?
The RhinoFLEX sewer hose is used just like any other RV drain hose. You attach the female bayonet connection end to the 3-inch sewer outlet of your RV and insert the other end into the ground sewer connector.
Once the hose is securely connected, you open each RV sewer valve (for the black and gray tanks), one at a time (usually the black tank first).
Once done draining each RV holding tank and the drain valves are closed, you disconnect the hose from the RV sewer outlet.
Using a dedicated water hose, rinse the sewer hose with freshwater (while the hose is still in the ground sewer connector).
How Do I Fix My Rhino Sewer Hose?
You can fix the end of your rhino sewer hose by replacing the bayonet fitting assembly per the video below.
If the hose itself is damaged, buy an entirely new assembly.
How Do You Hook Up A Rhino Sewer Hose?
You connect the Camco sewer hose to your RV by twisting the female bayonet fitting end of the hose onto the 3-inch sewer outlet of your camper.
The other end of the hose is inserted into a sewer drain found at a dump station or a campsite.
An RV drain hose support is helpful for RVers that tend not to move around a lot. These supports help create a gentle slope from the camper to the ground sewer drain. They also are great at eliminating low spots when running the hose over uneven ground.
How Do I Store My Rhino Sewer Hose?
You have a couple of options when it comes to storing your Rhino sewer hose.
Some travel trailers and fifth wheels come with a hollow rear bumper that allows you to store your Rhino RV hose.
Some RVs have a dedicated storage tube (other than the bumper) where you can keep a dirty sewage hose.
You may need to provide a plastic container with a lid so that you can keep the hose in a storage bay while not contaminating the other items you store in there as well.
Learn more about other RV hose storage options you have.
Does the Rhino Sewer Hose Fit In A Bumper?
The Rhino sewer hose will fit in a recreational vehicle's 4-inch square (or larger) hollow bumper. However, you will need to remove the 4-in-1 adapter for it to fit the storage space inside most bumpers.
How Do You Hook Up Two Rhino Sewer Hoses?
To hook up two Rhino sewer hoses to reach a dump hole farther than a single hose will reach, you twist together the bayonet fittings of two hoses.
You connect the male prongs of one hose to the female bayonet of another. Twist together to secure the connection so that liquid will not leak, and you now have a longer section of hose.
This allows you to have a couple of shorter hose segments rather than a single longer hose that can reduce the ease of use by being more unwieldy.
You can connect more than two hoses if necessary, though there becomes a point when you might want to consider moving close to the ground dump hole. 😉
Who Makes Rhino Sewer Hose?
The Rhino sewer hose is made by Camco, a leading RV accessory manufacturer headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, and has been in business since 1969.
Camco hoses are manufactured in the United States.
